Neuromuscular Dentistry is the term applied to techniques that expand upon traditional mechanical approach to the field of dentistry. Dr. Jill Morris is a leader in this area and an instructor to other dentists from around the world in Neuromuscular Occlusion.
Pure Power Mouthguards put the jaw in optimal position to maximize performance by properly aligning and relaxing the muscles in the face. The result: improved strength and balance.
Dr. Jill Morris, a certified PPM Florida dentist, painlessly uses electronic stimulation, measurement and analysis to create each custom PPM mouthguard.
Used by amateur athletes and hundreds of professional athletes, the PPM improves balance and upper body strength which allows them to excel on the field, on the field, court, and weight-room.
Even athletes in sports which don't normally wear guards for protection like golf, baseball and tennis are choosing PPM Mouthguards to enhance their strength, coordination, speed and focus. For those athletes Dr. Morris molds a trimmer model that allows players to breath normally and talk easily.
Manny Ramirez of the Boston Red Sox pops in his high tech PPM mouthguard before at bats. The guard relaxes his jaw, neck and head muscles as he swings the bat - all without enhancement drugs.
To be fitted for a Pure Power Mouthguard only requires one appointment. Because of the advanced technology Dr. Morris uses, she can bring her equipment and staff directly to your team locker room to fit the entire squad.

TMJ is a chronic illness that affects many people. TMJ is short for Temporomandibular Joints, the two joints that connect your jaw to your head.
The symptoms of TMJ are many and varied. Some common symptoms among our patients include headaches, dizziness, numbness in fingers and/or arms and difficulty swallowing. Many people experience locking of the jaw, jaw movement limitations and clicking or grating sounds in the jaw joints. TMJ may cause neck, shoulder or back pain, facial pain, and pain behind the eyes or unexplained loosening of the teeth. Ear aches, ear stuffiness or ringing, and pain or soreness in and around the jaw joints can indicate TMJ.
Do you have any of these symptoms?
Using computerized equipment, the Dentist trained to use neuromuscular dentistry techniques (NMD) can measure and study the pattern of your jaw movement through its full range of motion in three dimensions. The computer can also document the precise point at which your jaw is held in relation to the upper teeth. The activity of the key muscles that control the jaw while it is functioning and at rest can be measured. Rather than assuming your present jaw position (bite) is the best for you, the dentist can use additional objective information to determine your optimal jaw position.
After this diagnostic information is all gathered we can determine the best course of treatment for your individual needs.
If you have any questions or would like more information on this condition please call or email our office.
